Agincourt
November 22
Once again it is time for the Crown Province of Østgarðr to host
the annual Agincourt Memorial event. The site is the same as in past years,
the Universalist Unitarian Fellowship at 109 Browns Road in Huntington.
Activities include the traditional Agincourt heavy weapons/archery scenario,
other heavy weapons and archery competitions, bardic competitions
(including the selection of the first-ever Østgarðr Bardic
Champion), games, dancing, and other fun for all.
There is limited space for merchants, who are limited to a single
table and must preregister with the autocrat.
All those who wish to entertain at
dinner should contact the entertainment coordinator,
Luciliana de Castilla.
The site opens at 10AM. Armor inspection begins at 11Am and the tourney
will commence at noon.
The feast, prepared under the direction of Lady Andrea, will be served at 6PM.
All gentles on site after 10PM have volunteered for the clean up crew.
Directions:
- By car:
Take your best route to Route 110 North (off both the L.I.E. and
the Grand Central Parkway). Go North on Route 110 through Huntington
Station to its intersection with Mill Dam Road (it's a traffic light with a
large boulder on the island on the left. Jeff's Seafood is on the right).
Make a left at this intersection. At a T-intersection, turn right onto West
Shore Road, keeping the water on your right.
As the road veers away from the water, it becomes
Browns Road. Follow the road up the hill. The site is 1/2 mile on the
right.
- By train:
Take the Long Island Railroad, Port Jefferson Branch to
Huntington Station, and take a cab to the site (Approx. $5 fare), or
pre-arrange pickup. The last train home is 11:00 pm.
