An Evening in Alsace

To Drive the Cold Winter Away

Come one, come all! Enjoy the pursuits of the finer things in life! The Dawn Mooseguard, under the sponsorship of the Canton of Northpass, within the borders of the Crown Province of Østgarðr, doth call one and all to experience An Evening in Alsace to be held on January 17-18. To further add to the atmosphere, we wish to beg a boon of all who wish to attend. We will be attempting to make this an "Enchanted Evening". (This is a wish to make the evening more enjoyable and a more complete medieval experience, not to discourage attendance.) There will be a prize for the most "medieval" table set, and no discussion of blatantly non-medieval subjects in the hall. (Baron Sean has particularly requested that nobody mention SCA politics to him for the whole evening!) The autocrats point out that snowball fights are period.
The evening will contain a sumptuous multicourse feast that will be sure to tempt your palate and please your senses. Please contact Lady Andrea Caitlin MacIntire with any dietary restrictions before January 5th.
The day's activities will include dancing, fine entertainment, and an arts and sciences competition, all based on activities that one would do while wintering in a fine manor. Tantalize your eyes with sweet visions of winter in our edible subtlety contest to be judged by Lady Morgaine of Llyn! The cost of this fine event with overnight lodgings available for Saturday evening and a warm and filling sendoff on Sunday will be $20. Please make checks out to: SCA; The Canton of Northpass and send to the reservations clerk:
Alexander de Pantera (Ray Matra)
282 Bleakly Avenue
Buchanan, New York, 10511
to arrive no later than January 9th. Those reservations arriving after that date should add $5 to their fee to offset last minute adjustments that will be made.
The site will open at 11am on Saturday at the Blue Mountain Trail Lodge, 435 Welcher Avenue, Peekskill, NY 10566, and will close at 12 noon on Sunday. Reservations for the feast will be held to 50 gentles and nighttime accommodations will be on a first come first served basis for 30 bunks with pillow and blanket provided, others are requested to bring bed gear (pad, bag, pillow). For further information, please provide a SASE to the autocrat, Gabriella Verde (Michele Cardone) Please use mundane names when contacting any/all via mail.
