John Barleycorn on Crusade

John Barleycorn on Crusade

September 5th - 7th

In The Name of Allah, the Merciful,

does the Call go out to all Faithful to defend our homeland from strangers who come armed not only with sword but with cup. Their leader John Barleycorn has taken one of our strongholds and will unleash a three-day debauch of drink and festivities in the Canton of Northpass, Mountain Lakes Camps, June Road, North Salem, NY (no street number). The site has cabins and hot showers.

Festivities include the 10th Annual John Barleycorn Brewing Competition and the return of the Brewing Guildmaster's Cup (the first in many years) sponsored by the East Kingdom Brewing Guild. For fighters, we offer both the Second Annual Viscount Edward of Gendy's Unbelted Showcase and a tournament open to all. Archers may enter the Østgarðr Provincial Archery Championship; there will also be archery for other mere mortals.

Lady Morgaine of Llyn will prepare a sumptuous feast; those with dietary restrictions must contact her before Sept 1st, or may Allah have mercy on your soul. Please contact Lady Andrea MacIntyre if you wish to entertain. Bring donations for Sunday morning's Kingdom Travel Fund auction. There will be singing in the aisles, dancing in the streets, and necking at the Oasis (but NOTHING in the pool).

The Crusaders demand a tithe of $23 for the weekend (Friday through Sunday) or $20 for Saturday (day and feast only, not overnight), plus $5 ransom for reservations postmarked after August 25th. Saturday day-trippers are $9 (no late fee involved). Babes in arms are free; children 4 to 12 are half-price. Write checks to SCA, Inc. - Canton of Northpass and mail them to Lady Suzanne Neuber de Londres. Enclose a SASE for additional information.

For questions (and answers), contact autocrats Baron Sean deLondres and Lady Gabriella Verde.
