John Barleycorn's Class Reunion
John Barleycorn's Class Reunion
September 11th - 13th
The rumors of Old John's demise are highly exaggerated! He's
ALIVE! WELL!! AND PIXILLATED!!!
TITILLATING JOHN invites you to join him at
the Canton of Northpass' NINTH ANNUAL JOHN BARLEYCORN REUNION
at Mountain Lakes Camp, Hawley Mountain Road (no number), North Salem,
NY. Long lost members will reunite for a grand celebration.
Activities for this weekend event will include our Seventh Annual John
Barleycorn Brewing Competition, administered by East Kingdom Brewer's
Guild member Master Richard the Poor of Ely. Østgarðr's Archery
Champion, Baron Stefan the Salacious, will host the Crown Province's
annual Archery Competition, to be run by Østgarðr's Archery Marshall,
Gabriella Verde. And of course Viscount Sir Master Master Edward
Zifran of Gendy (it's good to air it out every so often) will hold his
Third Annual Unbelted Challenge, featuring double- and
single-elimination rounds, a contest for Best Challenge, a Heraldry
Test, a Horrendous Dancing Test, and the Most Spectacular Death.
(Reemember, Edward sez: "Looking cool is half the battle!") We are
also offering opportunity for a fencing tourney (ask the autocrat).
Enjoy period games, children's activities, both day and evening
entertainments, after-feast dancing, and a mid-afternoon Gilded Pearl
social meeting. Merchants and entertainers are welcome.
Our weekend will start at 8:00 PM Friday night, and close at noon
Sunday, at which time your help at cleaning the site will be
appreciated. We held the line on costs, too: $25.00 gets you two
nights in a cabin and five meals, including a hearty, plentiful feast
that would fortify ole J. B. himself, crafted by Lady Bree of An
Dubhaigeainn and our own Patricia of the Tangled Wyldes, and sotelties
by Palmina of the Saint. Saturday visitors will share our day board
for $8.00 (There is no off-board this year.) Day visit and feast is
$16.00. The full weekend, including five meals and two nights is
$24.00. Children under five are invited free. Reservations postmarked
after August 15 will incur a $5.00 late fee per paying person, so
please send early as our space is limited to 200 feasters. The only
