In keeping with the spirit of the day, there will be a great assortment of cheesy activities and entertainment. Fighters can enter the Viceroy's Handicap Tourney, for example. Armor inspection (to make sure your armor isn't too cheesy) begins at noon, which is also when the archery range opens. Merchants are more than welcome to come and sell their not necessarily cheesy wares.
The Big Cheese for the festival is Richard the Poor of Ely The cheesy feast, featuring all the cheese you can handle, will be prepared under the direction of Lady Andrea MacIntire. Special dietary needs (except possibly allergies to cheese) will be considered if you let us know about them by March 1.
If you have reservations about the Festival, send them to Doña Ana Ravaya de Guzman (Ana Areces, P.O. Box 134, New York NY, 10009, 718-230-1679 at reasonable hours). Make checks payable to "SCA Inc. - Ostgardr". You'll be set back $12 for each on-board spot and $6 for one of the few off-board spots. People under 12 years old get to be at the feast for half price (that's $6 on, $3 off). If you just want to be there for the day's fun, you'll have to come up with $3 - unless you're under 12, in which case it's free.
NOTE: There is a great deal of road work being done on and around the LIE in Nassau County. Please allow additional travel time, or take an alternate route.
