Huntington Renaissance Faire

Huntington Renaissance Faire

May 26-27, 2001

The Crown Province of Østgarðr will once again participate in the annual Huntington Renaissance Faire, at the Unitarian Fellowship of Huntington, 109 Browns Rd., Huntington NY, from 10 AM-6 PM Saturday and Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend.

The fair is is open to the public and we play a small but important part by providing demos and color, as well as fighting (and if we have a marshall and interested people:sometimes we have fencing).

The annual Ostgardr Champions' Tourney will be held on Saturday. The battle for the Viceroy's Jewels will be held on Sunday. A chance for pickups and general schmoozing with the public is always available and encouraged.

All fighters and artisans will be most heartily welcomed. Those who plan to attend as performers (fighters, fencers, artisans) and helpers can get into the Faire without paying the usual entrance fee, but you have to be there about an hour before the official opening time.

Those wishing to dwell under the great green and white tent of Ostgardr are asked to provide a demo for the public. We often have weaving, heraldry, cooking, embroidery, and calligraphy. Other ideas include arrow making and music.

All SCAdians are reminded that they represent the SCA and are encouraged to act in an approriate manner while dealing with the fair-goers. Those who plan to stay overnight are asked to remove their tents at no later than 8:30 AM on Sunday morning and register with me before that evening.

Further information can be obtained from Lady Andrea MacIntyre.
