The Cloisters, a building in Manhattan belonging to the Metropolitan
Museum of Art and constructed from pieces of medieval churches,
monasteries, etc., is the site of at least two musical series.
- Concerts at the Cloisters
- Most concerts take place on Sundays at 1:00 and 3:00 PM.
Prices $25-40 include same-day admission
to the Cloisters Museum (and the Metropolitan Museum of Art).
All performances take place
in the 12th-century Fuentidueña Chapel, which is fairly small,
so reservations by mail or telephone are recommended.

Concerts at the Cloisters
Fort Tryon Park

Tickets will be mailed until two weeks before an event, and held at the
door thereafter. Tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded.
Directions
- By car:
Get in the northbound lanes of Riverside Drive and take the Fort Tryon Park
exit (the first one after the GW bridge), and follow signs until you find parking.
- By subway:
Take the A train (isn't there a song about that?) to the Dyckman stop. Cross Dyckman
and/or Broadway to the park and enter a maze of black-top paths; whenever you have a
choice, go up.
Alternatively, take the A train to the 190th street stop, exit station by elevator, and
walk north.
- By bus:
Take the M-4 bus to the north end of the line and walk north on Margaret Corbin Drive or through the gardens.

- This is a concert series, run by Music Before 1800 Productions.
Tickets are sold individually, or at a discount for the whole series
(eight concerts in the 2000-2001 series).
