Highlights from the Feb. 21 Commons Chronicler: Please send submissions and subscriptions.... Webmaster: Please contribute photos of Things Ostgardrians Do, as well as just photos of Ostgardrians. Please fill out form (on paper or on-line) to give me permission to publish your name, etc. on the Web page. Vicereine: The new Bylaws contain one new Provincial award, the Sea Dog for service in the Cantons. While we want to avoid merit-badge syndrome, one or two other Provincial awards are under consideration. Viceroy: The Huntington Renfair demo, the oldest fixed-location event in the SCA, will be Memorial Day weekend. Please come and contribute; this demo pays our rent for Celtic Silliness and Agincourt. Also, the new Bylaws (draft) will be mailed out soon for comment. Ateno (Celtic Silliness autocrat): Feast is sold out. The fighting, archery, and feast service are all based on the legend of Cuchulainn. There will be a goods-and-services auction between Court and Feast, proceeds to pay for the Ostgardr encampment at Pennsic. Whyt Whey: "Fight-Fence-Eat" potluck Friday eve, March 7. Class by Violeta, "Chaucer Made Painless", March 13. Camping event, "War of the Roaches", in the untouched wilderness of Brooklyn (Floyd Bennett Field), June 20-22, with proceeds to pay for winter fighting practice. There will be a woods battle, field battle, possibly bridge battle, possibly archery. Note: site is owned by Federal gov't, and we've never worked with this agency before; be on especially good behavior to leave a good impression.
