Highlights from the Mar. 21 Commons by Odo Levrier My silly humans lost their notes on the meeting, so I'm filling in for them. I've been wanting to go to one of these event things for a long time, because I love meeting new humans (especially the ones with food), but the humans in charge keep saying No Dogs Allowed. So here's my list of Reasons Why Dogs Should Be Allowed At SCA Events: (10) Great way to meet babes. (9) We never talk about computers. (8) Some of us make wonderful costume accessories. (7) We love washing dishes (slurp...) (6) Dogs walking under (and on) tables picking up scraps add to the medieval feast ambience. (5) When we fawn on people, we expect nothing in return. (4) Roman persona dogs get to wear cool armor. (3) "Sorry, I have to walk the dog" a good way to get out of boring meetings. (2) Perfect footwarmers for chilly Pennsic evenings and (1) Us: cold wet noses; Them: short tunics and tights. The Remnants of the Meeting Minutes Whyt Whey has had a near total turnover of officers: Kamilah is Seneschal, Guy is Deputy Seneschal, Greg is Exchequer, Paul is Chronicler, Pacita is Chatelaine, and Daniel is Herald. Heraldry meetings will be held on 4th Thursdays at Branwen's, starting with the basics. Fighter practice in Central Park starts April 1. Broken Bridge Commons meetings are on 3rd Wednesdays at 85 Eastern Parkway; Heraldry meetings are 1st Fridays at 190 Ocean Parkway. Christopher will be the Chronicler. Lions End is arranging a weekday school demo in late May; call Mouche to volunteer. And, as always, the Webmaster and Chronicler of Ostgardr request articles, event reviews, photos, drawings, museum exhibitions, etc. April Commons will be on April 18 at 8 PM at Michelle Cardone's house, 116 Bradford Avenue in Rye, NY; phone 914-835-7260. Take first left (stop light is too far) onto Theall. Right at stop sign, then an immediate left onto Osborne. The second stop sign is a T intersection; by this time the street has become Coolidge. Left onto Park. First right onto Florence. Left at stop sign onto Bradford, and look for the third house on the left, a 1-story house with cedar shingles.
