Highlights from the June 14 Commons By all reports, our Province is a busy one. All the cantons spoke of demo activity: Northpass was in the process of organizing a demo for the theatre screening "Hunchback of Notre Dame", Whyt Whey was mustering forces for another mini-demo at Barnes and Noble, and Lion's End was looking for volunteers for their upcoming demo at the equestrian academy July 17. As well as educating the public, the cantons continue to educate our own folk, with monthly sewing nights in Lion's End, successful cooking workshops in Northpass, and bardic, dance, and brewing workshops in Whyt Whey. Much of the talk of the evening centered on Pennsic. Baron Sean exhorted everyone in the Province to shoot for the Archery War Point; he also pointed out that a batch of strawberry quick mead will be ready for Pennsic. 60 Minutes-Australia is covering the Aussie Invasion of the U.S., tracking the progress of the travellers from Lochac to the Debatable Lands. .A high point of the pilgrimage will be the "Aussie Party" on Sunday night, August 11. Sir Mordreth has stepped down as head of Pennsic Public Safety; Sir Jehan le Batard has taken over for him. Women take note: incidents of harassment by "Tuchukoid" types at Pennsic will be taken seriously. Please report any such incidents to Public Safety. Ostgardr will host the Eastrealm Barons' Dinner on Wednesday of War Week. Lord Gideanus will be head cook, and all manner of servers, entertainers, and the like will be needed. Please speak to the Vicereine if you wish to volunteer. The Regional Seneschal, Master Richard the Poor, read out the proposed East Kingdom Minors Policy, and folk expressed their concerns about how such a policy, especially in regard to minors and alcohol, would affect events in the Province.
